The CEO Council's Membership Criteria

The CEO Council membership experience is designed exclusively for those who are the top executive in their organization.

We vet each applicant to ensure that all members are able to engage with their true peers and can feel safe and comfortable participating in candid discussions with each other about their leadership challenges and potential solutions.

Our goal is to build a diverse community of true chief executives. The criteria below is how we evaluate applications, and because titles vary by organization, industry, and geography, we review every application on an individual basis to determine fit based on current and prior leadership experience.

We use a range of factors to determine if each applicant's leadership responsibilities and experience are in alignment with that of members of The Rhode Island CEO Council community.

Membership Criteria

1. Job Title: Members must hold the title of CEO/Chief Executive Officer, President, Executive Director, Managing Director, Managing Partner, Owner, or be the top local executive of an out-of-state company with P&L responsibility for a local workforce.

2. Company Size: Members must lead a workforce with a minimum of five full time-employees. For owners of extra-small organizations (under five full-time employees) we welcome applicants whose past leadership experience meets our membership criteria.

NOTE:  We may request additional information or documentation to assess both current and prior experience.

If you have questions about your membership application, criteria, or want to provide additional context about your leadership experience, please reach out to us.
